Bellerophon is a classical hero who tamed and rode the legendary winged horse Pegasus.  He was known for his many adventures and great deeds, most notably killing the Chimaera.

Though he is most recognizeable with Pegasus, he can also be depicted slaying the Chimaera, often with a spear or bow and arrow.  He is typically portrayed as a young man.
